Our Story
Southern Performance Furniture traces its roots to 1998, when Tommy Jernigan founded the company with a mission to support organizations that operate in demanding environments. With more than a decade of firsthand experience managing construction projects in the justice sector, Tommy saw gaps in dependable products and trusted support. That insight led him to become an independent sales representative, seeking to provide reliable, experience-based guidance in supporting positive outcomes for challenging environments.
Our Evolution
Over the years, that mission expanded and sharpened.
As facility needs grew more specialized, the company evolved into Southern Performance Furniture (SPF),
with a focus on durable, purpose driven furniture solutions for justice, behavioral healthcare, and transitional housing environments.
